    A skirt that makes the walk over the whole point of going. The Skirt Nainoa Lagoon Pūpū falls smocked from the waist to the ankle, where a deep ruffle sweeps the hemline wide as you move.

    The wide smocked band stretches to pull on, with a drawstring tie to set it, and side-seam pockets sit just below. Gathers spread from there into yards of 100% Rayon before the ruffle begins. Cone shells scatter down the length of the Pūpū print's deep fabric.

    Wear it high on the waist with the matching Top Nainoa (sold separately), or split the set and pair it with a plain rib tank and slides.

    Pūpū ʻAlā
    Living and doing business in Waikīkī, we are surrounded by representations of Hawaiʻi. Shells appear everywhere—on clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, and artwork —yet so often the shells depicted can be found in oceans throughout the world.

    With Pūpū ʻAlā, we wanted to look closer to home.

    Pūpū ʻalā is a Hawaiian name for the beautifully patterned cone shells found in our waters. Hawaiʻi is home to dozens of species of cone shells, including varieties found only here in the Hawaiian Islands. Their intricate markings and natural geometry make each shell its own tiny work of art.

    Our Pūpū ʻAlā Collection celebrates these treasures of our kai through a distinctly Hawaiʻi lens. Rather than simply creating a “seashell print,” we chose to highlight shells that belong to the waters that surround us—the same ocean that shapes our islands, our memories and our sense of place.

    Because at Kahulaleʻa, the details matter. What we choose to depict matters. And even something as small as a pūpū can tell a story of Hawaiʻi.
