    Farmers market in the morning, beach park by noon, no change of clothes in between. The Top Nainoa sits off both shoulders on a band of elastic, with a wide ruffle over the chest, flutter sleeves, and a cropped hem that stops short of the waist.

    The elastic wears pulled up on the shoulder as well. The ruffle falls as a top layer over the body of the top, and the sleeves finish in a ruffle too. Below the ruffle the body hangs loose and ends well above the hip. In the Mocha Lehua Blossom print, lehua blossoms and their leaves gather in clusters across the ruffle and the body.

    The Skirt Nainoa in the same print makes it a set, and on its own it goes over high-waisted trousers. For him, the Men's Aloha Shirt Pōhaku and Men's Active Polo come in Mocha Lehua Blossom.

    Learn About the Print
    ʻAhihi Lehua
    There are many varieties of ʻōhiʻa lehua, each shaped by the ʻāina and conditions in which it grows. When thinking of the recent rains of Hilo, I found myself drawn to one in particular—ʻAhihi Lehua (‘Ōhi’a Lehua Newellii).

    ʻAhihi Lehua makes its home often growing along stream banks, waterfalls, and the steep walls of rain-soaked gulches. Its brilliant and full pom pom like lehua blossoms emerge against a landscape shaped by water—beautiful, resilient, and intimately connected to place.

    This print is my interpretation of that relationship. Inspired by the many expressions of ʻōhiʻa lehua, ʻAhihi Lehua is an ode to Hilo rain, flowing streams, and a native beauty that has learned to flourish alongside them.

    A reminder that even after the heaviest rains, the lehua continues to bloom.
