    Made for the walk down to the water and the table waiting after. Pants Kōkeʻe Orchid Liko sit high at the waist and open into a wide leg that clears the ankle.

    The waistband is smocked, so it stretches on and holds without a button or a zip. Tiered ruffles run down the outer leg and add width toward the hem, and the rayon keeps the whole thing light. In the Orchid colorway, the Liko print features blossom clusters with fine outlines along the length of the leg. Read its full story below.

    In Hawaiian forests and gardens, liko refers to the tender new growth that emerges from a plant—a young leaf unfurling toward the light. Delicate yet resilient, it represents renewal, possibility, and the promise of what is to come.

    Our Liko Lehua print was created during a season of growth for Kahulaleʻa, as we opened our Moana Surfrider boutique in Waikīkī. Like the first leaves of a plant reaching outward after rain, it marked a new chapter filled with hope, purpose, and gratitude.

    From a Hawaiian perspective, Liko carries a deeper meaning beyond its botanical form. It symbolizes genealogy, continuity, and the generations that come after us. Just as new growth emerges from an established plant, each generation is connected to those who came before, carrying forward ʻike, values, and traditions. Liko reminds us that growth is not separate from our past—it is a continuation of it.

    The flowing forms within this print celebrate the beauty of unfolding possibilities while honoring the foundations that sustain them. It is a reminder that every new beginning, whether a journey, a dream, or a new chapter in life, starts with a single tender step forward.
