    Pants that move like a long skirt. The Pants Mālama Lagoon Pūpū rise high on the waist and drop into a wide leg that reaches the floor.

    The smocked waistband runs deep and stretches to pull on, a drawstring finished with tassels ties at the front, and side pockets hide in the seams. The 100% Rayon falls straight and fluid through the leg. The Pūpū print layers its cone shells over the deep fabric.

    The Top Leʻa (sold separately) completes the set. On their own, wear them with a plain fitted tee and slides, or dress them up for dinner with heels and gold jewelry.

    Pūpū ʻAlā
    Living and doing business in Waikīkī, we are surrounded by representations of Hawaiʻi. Shells appear everywhere—on clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, and artwork —yet so often the shells depicted can be found in oceans throughout the world.

    With Pūpū ʻAlā, we wanted to look closer to home.

    Pūpū ʻalā is a Hawaiian name for the beautifully patterned cone shells found in our waters. Hawaiʻi is home to dozens of species of cone shells, including varieties found only here in the Hawaiian Islands. Their intricate markings and natural geometry make each shell its own tiny work of art.

    Our Pūpū ʻAlā Collection celebrates these treasures of our kai through a distinctly Hawaiʻi lens. Rather than simply creating a “seashell print,” we chose to highlight shells that belong to the waters that surround us—the same ocean that shapes our islands, our memories and our sense of place.

    Because at Kahulaleʻa, the details matter. What we choose to depict matters. And even something as small as a pūpū can tell a story of Hawaiʻi.
